
The Little Boy series of 13 statuettes emerged from a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Encountering the material on display there revealed just how limited and distorted my understanding of the events of August 8, 1945, truly was. These works are deliberately crafted to elicit a warm, even whimsical, response through their innocuous and decorative exteriors—yet beneath this surface lies the grim reality of one of the most devastating acts in human history.
